Please note: This is only required for the following camera bodies: Z5, Z6, Z7, Z8 & Z9. All other Z series Nikon bodies have a back plate compatible with our Nikon Clip-In filters alone.

Our Kolari Magnetic Clip-in Filters for Nikon Z-Mount (Neutral Density) provide an easy way to control light and exposure, adding rear filtration options to your setup. By reducing the amount of light entering the lens, our ND filters allow for slower shutter speeds, wider apertures, and a range of creative effects, giving you more control over motion blur and depth of field in bright conditions. Compatible with full-frame Nikon Z cameras. (See compatible cameras below)

Engineered with the professional-grade optics that Kolari is renowned for, these filters are securely housed in a CNC-machined aluminum magnetic frame designed to maximize lens compatibility. This universal solution works seamlessly with lenses that lack filter threads and can be used alongside external lens filters for multiple layers of filtration."

Filter Options

3-Stop ND - Good for slightly reducing light in bright conditions. Useful for maintaining a wide aperture to blur backgrounds or for light motion blur in water and people.

6-Stop ND - Provides moderate light reduction. Ideal for long exposures during the day to soften motion in clouds, waterfalls, or crowds without overexposing the image.

10-Stop ND - Strong light-blocking filter. Great for dramatic long exposures that smooth out water, blur skies, and remove moving elements from scenes in bright daylight.

At this time, our Kolari Magnetic Clip-in Filters for Nikon Z-mount are not compatible with the Nikon Z50 or Nikon Z-mount APS-C cameras.

*** Please note that when used with a Nikon Z Mount 26mm f/2.8 lens, the rear element may protrude into the lens mount. This lens is not compatible with clip-in filters.

Astrophotography Warning

Astrophotography thoroughly tests the optics of any camera system and lens. Ultrawide lenses are particularly challenging because of the high rear incidence angles involved where any additional glass has the possibility of inducing a field curvature which can cause corner sharpness on a lens-by-lens basis; this effect is most noticeable at wide apertures. While this should always be a consideration with any ultra wide lens, we typically only see issues with astrophotography where the target subject is a series of geometrically perfect points of light at infinity, shot at wide apertures.
